Happy ‘O8 From Lucky 8!
If the number 8 has anything to do with it, this is going to be a great year. Because 8, almost universally, represents powerful NEW BEGINNINGS!
• The 8th day is the first day of the new week.
• In music, the “Octave” is the 8th note that begins a new musical cycle.
• In Judaism the number 8 signifies entrance into the “Covenant of God” and God commanded circumcision (the “Sign of the Covenant”) to take place on the 8th DAY.
• In Christianity, 8 is associated with the resurrection of Christ because he appeared to his disciples after 8 days.
• In Buddhist teaching it is recommended that one embark on the Noble Eightfold Path to enlightenment.
• In Hinduism 8 is the number of wealth and abundance. Goddess Lakshmi has 8 arms. There are 8 “nidhis” - seats of wealth.
• In Tarot, No. 8, is Strength.
• In traditional yoga, 8 is the number of “limbs” of learning on the path to yogic realization. This is “Ashtanga” yoga, where Ashtanga means “eight limbs”.
• Lie 8 down, of course, and it’s infinity!
